Why can't you use lotion, perfume or deoderant before surgery?

I'm having an operation next week and my pr-op instructions say not to use ';any creams, lotions, perfumes, deodorants or powder'; the day of the procedure. They are operating on my foot and the deodorant and powder will not be anywhere near there. Well, they are just going to have to put up with my BO I guess. Why can't you use lotion, perfume or deoderant before surgery?
1) to prevent allergic reactions while under the knife. 2) Often such things react with pre-op preparation %26amp; take time to be cleaned off.Why can't you use lotion, perfume or deoderant before surgery?
i just had surgery like a few days ago but i dont remember them mentioning anything about not wearing perfumes or lotions......weird!!!

maybe they dont want it infecting your foot if it like accidentally gos in

It is over allergies or like you say if you sweat that can run into the wounded area and cause troubles.
