Why can't a person wear deodorant, lotion, perfume, or nail polish before a surgery?

i asked my doctor once before and he said that its because of the contents in the products that can effect results.Why can't a person wear deodorant, lotion, perfume, or nail polish before a surgery?
Who, exactly, are you trying to look good for?





I'm sure that these emoluments could cause an infection, if they were introduced into a surgical wound; they might get on the surgeon's hands or tools, causing them to slip.





C'mon, lady! It's SURGERY, not THE LOVE CONNECTION!
